Halley's Comet is a vertically scrolling space shooter released in 1986 by Taito America Corporation under the Coin-It license. Players pilot a spacecraft tasked with destroying Halley's Comet before it collides with Earth. The game progresses through multiple stages, each representing a different planetary region of the solar system. Players fire upward at incoming enemies and comet fragments while dodging debris. A dual-button control scheme handles movement and shooting. The comet itself appears at the end of stages and must be bombarded repeatedly to reduce its size. Power-ups and point bonuses are available throughout. Difficulty increases as stages advance, with faster enemy patterns and denser projectile fields. The game supports two-player alternating play.
