Puyo Puyo Sun
噗呦噗呦:Sun
Puyo Puyo Sun is a puzzle game released in 1996 by Compile for arcades. Players stack and rotate falling blob-shaped pieces called Puyos, chaining matches of four or more same-colored Puyos to clear them and send garbage Puyos to the opponent's field. The game introduces a sun mechanic: a sun Puyo appears periodically and, when cleared, eliminates an entire row. The cabinet supports two-player simultaneous competitive play, with each player managing their own vertical playfield. Controls use a joystick and two buttons for rotating pieces left or right. Single-player mode progresses through a series of opponents with increasing difficulty, each with distinct character dialogue sequences before and after matches.
