Rafflesia
Rafflesia is an action arcade game developed by Coreland and Sega in 1986. Players control a character navigating through stages filled with enemies and obstacles, shooting or attacking to clear paths and defeat foes. The game takes its name from the large parasitic flower and features a top-down or side-scrolling perspective where players must manage threats from multiple directions. Enemies appear in waves, requiring players to stay mobile while targeting incoming threats. Controls are straightforward, typically using a joystick for movement and a button for attacks. Stages increase in difficulty as players progress, introducing new enemy types and faster attack patterns. The cabinet was distributed through Sega's arcade network, making it available across various arcades during the mid-1980s.
