Vs. Hot Smash
Vs. Hot Smash is an action arcade game developed by Kaneko and published by Taito in 1987. Players control a paddle to deflect a ball against a variety of on-screen targets and obstacles, similar in concept to breakout-style gameplay but with additional action elements. The game features multiple stages, each presenting different arrangements of targets and hazards that increase in difficulty as players progress. Controls rely on a rotary dial or paddle controller to position the player's deflector horizontally. Enemies and moving objects add unpredictability to each stage, requiring quick reaction. Scoring is based on hitting targets and clearing stages efficiently. The cabinet was designed for head-to-head competitive play, allowing two players to compete simultaneously against each other.
