Zaviga
Zaviga is an arcade action game released in 1984 by Data East Corporation. Players control a spacecraft navigating through enemy-filled stages, shooting down waves of opponents while avoiding incoming fire. The game follows a vertically or multi-directional scrolling structure typical of the era, with players facing progressively more aggressive enemy patterns as stages advance. The spacecraft is maneuvered using a joystick, with a separate button handling weapon fire. Enemy formations attack in coordinated waves, requiring players to manage both offensive and defensive positioning. Data East designed the game around arcade-style high-score competition, encouraging repeated play to improve performance. Each stage increases the challenge through faster enemy movement and denser attack patterns, testing player reflexes and accuracy throughout.
