The title screen displays "COTTON 2" in large yellow text with a red arcade-style border at the top and bottom. A large glowing moon occupies the upper portion of the background, set against a dark blue night sky with silhouetted trees. On the right side stand two anime-style characters in colorful costumes against a starry backdrop. A black silhouette of a witch on a broomstick flies across the moon's surface. The Success company logo and "1997" appear at the bottom center, with "CREDIT 0" shown in the lower right corner in arcade font.

Cotton 2 is a horizontally scrolling shooter developed by Success and released in arcades in 1997. Players control Cotton, a young witch riding a broomstick, blasting through fantasy-themed stages filled with enemies and bosses. The game supports two-player simultaneous co-op, with a second player taking control of Silk, Cotton's fairy companion. Gameplay involves shooting projectiles, collecting gems to power up magic attacks, and using screen-clearing spells. Cotton can also grab and throw certain enemies as a melee option. The game features multiple stages with distinct visual themes, mid-stage and end-stage bosses, and colorful sprite-based graphics. Compared to its predecessor, Cotton 2 adds more elaborate attack mechanics and cooperative play, giving the arcade release a stronger multiplayer focus.
