Orbitron
Orbitron is an action arcade game released in 1982, developed by Comsoft under license from Signatron USA. Players control a spacecraft tasked with defending against waves of incoming enemies in a space-based shooting environment. The game draws comparisons to fixed-shooter mechanics, where the player maneuvers along a limited axis while targeting enemy formations descending or approaching from various angles. Controls are straightforward, using a joystick for movement and a button for firing. Stages increase in difficulty as enemy patterns grow more complex and attack speeds rise. Orbitron was distributed as a dedicated arcade cabinet and represents Comsoft's adaptation of Signatron's original hardware design into a commercially released product for arcade operators.
