Rainbow Islands - Extra Version
彩虹岛
Rainbow Islands - Extra Version is a platformer arcade game released by Taito Corporation in 1988 and a sequel to Bubble Bobble. Players control Bub or Bob as they climb vertically scrolling islands, shooting rainbows to defeat enemies and use as platforms. Rainbows can be walked across or dropped onto enemies below. Each island consists of multiple floors culminating in a boss fight. Collecting diamonds of all seven colors on each island unlocks secret paths and powerful items. The Extra Version features different enemy layouts and item placements compared to the original release, offering an alternate challenge. Rising water at the bottom of the screen creates constant upward pressure, requiring steady progress throughout each stage.
