Thunder Force AC is a horizontal-scrolling shooter developed by Technosoft and published by Sega for arcades in 1990. Based on Thunder Force III for the Mega Drive, this arcade version adapts several of the original's stages and introduces new content. Players pilot a spacecraft called the FIRE LEO-03 Styx, fighting through multiple scrolling stages filled with enemy formations and large bosses. The ship can collect weapon power-ups including the Back Shot, Twin Shot, Hunter, and Blade, and can switch between them on the fly. A shield system absorbs a limited number of hits before the ship is destroyed. The game moves at a fast pace with dense enemy patterns, requiring precise dodging and weapon selection. Two players can alternate turns.
