Bionic Commando
Bionic Commando is a run-and-gun action game developed by Capcom and released in 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Players control a military commando equipped with a bionic arm—the game's signature feature. Rather than jumping like traditional platformers, the player uses the extendable bionic arm as a grappling hook to swing across gaps, climb walls, and pull objects. Combat involves shooting enemies with a standard firearm while navigating eight challenging stages. Each level requires both combat skills and problem-solving, as players must figure out how to reach objectives using the bionic arm's unique mechanics. The arm serves multiple purposes: grappling to move through levels, grabbing and throwing enemies, and interacting with the environment. The difficulty curve is steep, and checkpoints are limited, making it a challenging experience that demands precise timing and strategy.
