Boot Hill is a two-player action game released by Midway in 1977. Set in the American Old West, it pits two gunfighters against each other in a side-scrolling duel across a black-and-white screen divided into multiple terrain sections, including open plains, cactus fields, and a graveyard. Each player controls a cowboy using a joystick to move left and right and a button to fire. The goal is to shoot the opponent while dodging incoming bullets. Bullets can be blocked by cacti and other obstacles on the screen. The game ends when one player accumulates enough hits, and a single player can compete against a CPU-controlled opponent. Boot Hill uses a dedicated cabinet and is a direct sequel to Midway's earlier Gun Fight.
