CoMotion
CoMotion is an action arcade game released in 1976 by Gremlin. Players control a moving marker on a rectangular playfield, drawing lines to carve out sections of the grid in a style similar to maze-filling or territory-claiming gameplay. The objective is to fill a required percentage of the playfield while avoiding enemies that patrol the board and will destroy the player on contact. Controls are directional, guiding the marker along the grid lines. The game increases in difficulty as enemies move faster and become more numerous with each successive stage. CoMotion represents an early example of the territory-capture genre that would later influence titles like Qix, making it a notable piece of arcade history from the mid-1970s.
