Space Chaser
Space Chaser is an arcade action game released by Taito in 1979. Players pilot a spaceship and must shoot down waves of enemy craft while avoiding collision and incoming fire. The game supports two players, who take turns controlling the ship. Movement is handled via a joystick, with a button for firing projectiles. Enemy formations appear in successive waves, increasing in difficulty as the game progresses. Players must clear each wave of attackers before advancing. The screen layout is fixed, with enemies descending or moving in patterns across the play field. Scoring is based on the number of enemies destroyed. Space Chaser is one of Taito's early fixed-shooter titles, arriving during a period when space-themed shooters were prominent in arcades.
