Sprint 1
Sprint 1 is a single-player top-down racing arcade game released by Atari in 1978. The player controls a small car viewed from above, racing around a fixed oval track against the clock. The goal is to complete as many laps as possible within the time limit. Controls use a steering wheel and gear shifter, with higher gears allowing greater speed but requiring more careful handling. The track features oil slicks that cause the car to slide, adding difficulty. Sprint 1 is a single-player adaptation derived from Atari's earlier two-player Sprint 2, simplifying the experience for solo play. The game uses black-and-white raster graphics and rewards skillful cornering and gear management to maximize lap count before time expires.
