Earth Defense Force
Earth Defense Force is a 1-player action game developed by Jaleco in 1992 for the Super Famicom. The player controls a spacecraft with guns, destroying waves of alien invaders across multiple stages. Gameplay uses a top-down perspective, requiring navigation while maintaining firepower against advancing enemies. Each stage progresses through increasingly difficult enemy formations with more complex attack patterns in later levels. The control scheme uses the D-pad for movement and buttons for firing weapons. Power-ups appear between waves, temporarily enhancing weapons or providing shields. The difficulty curve extends steadily across all stages, with each stage concluding once all enemy waves are eliminated. Earth Defense Force emphasizes reaction time and positioning, offering arcade action focused on combat and survival.
