Darius Twin
Darius Twin is a horizontal scrolling shoot-em-up released by Taito in 1991 for the Super Famicom. Players control a spaceship armed with various weapons as they navigate through five stages, each culminating in a battle against a giant mechanical boss. The game supports two players in cooperative or alternating play. Controls are straightforward—directional movement and firing mechanics enable fast-paced action. Between stages, players select different branching paths that affect level progression. Power-ups scattered throughout levels enhance firepower and provide temporary shields. The bosses are distinctive mechanical creatures inspired by sea life, each featuring multiple health bars requiring sustained attacks to defeat. The combination of branching stage selection and varied boss designs creates challenge and replayability across sessions.
