Mega Man 3

Screenshots1 / 5

A large pink robot boss with white fluffy hair and an angry expression dominates the center of the screen. Mega Man in blue armor stands on top of the boss's head, firing a yellow projectile. Two smaller enemy heads with tan and brown coloring float in the upper portion against a blue sky with white clouds. Pixelated ZZ-pattern barriers appear on the left and right sides of the screen. The overall scene is rendered in NES-era sprite graphics with a bright color palette.

Mega Man 3 is a side-scrolling action game developed by Capcom in 1990 for the NES. Players control the robot Mega Man as he battles eight robot masters, each with unique weapon abilities that players acquire upon defeat. The core gameplay involves platforming through stages while fighting enemies and bosses. After defeating all eight masters, players advance to Wily's Castle stages with increased difficulty. The game features a non-linear stage select system, allowing players to choose which robot master to fight in any order. Controls are responsive with directional pad movement, button-based jumping and shooting. Mega Man can switch between his standard arm cannon and acquired weapons to exploit boss weaknesses. Each weapon has limited ammunition that gradually depletes, forcing strategic use. The challenging difficulty and precise platforming requirements define the experience.
